Capital One Cup

5th Round of what used to be known as the League Cup and a bunch of other names over the years, Villa reserves currently 2-0 up against what must be a Liverpool kids team!
Just highlights how seriously this Cup competition is taken, maybe time to scrap it as no one seems bothered, not least us who bowed out to the mighty Oxford United.

This whole thing of the World Cunt Championship or whatever it’s called being on this week is ridiculous. But if I was Klopp I’d have sent this team there and put at least a half strength team out at Villa. Bit like the team they beat Everton with.

4-0 and the Villa fans are going mental, running around all the empty seats.
This is a farce of a game!

Similar to the team of youngsters Fat Sam put out against Forest that got slaughtered. Surely Klopp could’ve kept 5-6 first teamers back for this one and probably have enough to see them through, than let the youngsters go out and effectively throw the round and hand it to Villa.

They've never won the club world cup so its actually a fairly big deal to them. Ridiculous to have put this game on tonight

The Club World Cup pays more, has the global advertising, and looks more prestigious on their international CV. Surprised Villa didn't put a stronger team out to try to guarantee a victory.

Everyone is talking about these two games being so close together, which I agree is silly, but then their next game (given the one against us has been postponed) is the final of the Club World Cup - assuming they get through tomorrow - in four days time. Surely they could have trusted a team not dissimilar to tonight's to do the job against the 8th best team in the Mexican league, played a semi decent XI tonight, and then flown the big players over in plenty of time for the final?
Or is there some kind of squad registration restriction of which I am unaware?

Just so they can compete in the Charity Shield of World football.
Just another marketing scheme.

Bit of a joke with OTT praise from the pundits for the Liverpool youngsters that lost 5-0 to AV reserves!
